For safety and security purposes, the primary booking guest is the only person who can check-in. Only registered guests are allowed on site. Primary reserving guest, 18+, must be registered through VRBO with a verified ID and personal profile photo. We reserve the right to ask for all guest names and ages. You must supply a total number of vehicles with make, model, and license plates. A $50 per night per person fee will be assessed for any unauthorized guests staying at the property.
Stairs leading to the primary bedrooms are very secure and safe; however, they are not recommended for unattended young children and are definitely not to be played on. They are steep and may not be a feature that all guests like. We have very clear pictures of these stairs that lead to both the upstairs and downstairs bedrooms. Please review these pictures prior to booking. We are not responsible for any injuries that can potentially take place on these stairs.
The single day bed in the second bedroom boasts a trundle pull out single as well. Extra bedding, pillows, and blankets are located in the closets.
The DC Retreat is a pet-friendly space with a fully fenced-in backyard great for a spirited game of fetch. All pets must be declared (breed, number, and estimated weight) prior to booking. We charge a one-time, non-refundable $50 per stay pet fee for a max of 2 pets (up to 50lbs each). If our staff determines that you have brought an undeclared pet with you during your stay you will be reported to the platform's resolution center and be charged a one-time fee of $200. For safety and insurance purposes, the following breeds are strictly prohibited:

Absolutely NO pets on the furniture. While we love your furry friends, we insist that your pets use the provided dog bed or sleep on the floor of the home. Please be mindful of your pet's hair and use the broom to sweep up any excess hair prior to departing. Dog bowls and treats are located in the kitchen for your use.
Please pick up after your pet. Use the provided doggy poop bags in the dispenser, hanging next to the back door in the kitchen, to pick up your pet's waste. We ask that you promptly dispose of any pet waste in the outdoor receptacle.

If you move it, put it back where you got it.
If you use it, wash it.
The use of narcotics of any kind is STRICTLY PROHIBITED.
We provide basic cleaning supplies to include laundry detergent and dryer sheets. Please do not take any of this with you when you leave as this is for every guest who stays at the DC Retreat.
We have professional cleaners on staff that come immediately after our guests' checkout. Prior to cleaning, our staff thoroughly inspects the property for damage and stolen goods. Any overt damage (beyond normal wear and tear) or stolen goods will be reported to the platform's resolution center and billed to guests directly.
Absolutely NO SMOKING or VAPING inside the home. Any evidence of smoke inside the home will be documented and reported to the platform's resolution center. Guests are liable for any and all damages and may be charged up to $400 per occurrence if smoke is detected in the home.
When checking out, please make sure the TV remotes are back in their proper locations. Don't forget to lock both the back door and front door prior to leaving.
